The Shetland hut provides you with dog friendly holiday accommodation near both Snowdonia and the beautiful North Wales Coast. The Shetland Hut is situated in its own secure garden with 4ft fencing. This hut has a log burner, comfortable double bed, kitchen and wet-room providing you, your loved one and your dogs with all the comforts of home, plus fantastic views and outside space to enjoy.
Shepherd’s Hut accommodation with luxury and comfort!
This is our fifth hut and is named after one of our family members a Shetland Pony!
Much like our other lovely huts The Shetland squeezes in all the home comforts you need combined with a large portion of much “wow”, “OMG” and “oooh isn’t it cosy!” The Shetland provides offers a level of style and comfort which sets it apart from the rest (apart from our other gorgeous huts that is!), and you’re going to love it!
As with our other huts the Shetland is situated in its own fenced off area for your dogs to enjoy and run free.
Accessed is via a road, which is suitable to drive on in all weathers.
In common with our other huts the Shetland boasts fantastic views in wonderful countryside, and is less than 4 miles from the town of St Asaph in North Wales.
This tranquil setting is ideal for a couple looking for a romantic break away or a couple of friends or family members to enjoy.
What’s inside?
Inside you’ll find;
- Two comfy arm chairs sit in front of a small wood burning stove which provides a warm a cosy cottage atmosphere and all fuel is provided. The living area also offers an electric radiator in the winter months and a towel radiator in the wetroom.
- The bed is 4ft wide and free standing, there is no need to mess around dismantling seating area and making up your bed for the evening! Please note, if you need an additional 6 inches (4ft 6in wide bed) please see the Gypsy, the Suffolk or the Shire
- The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, grill and 3 ring hob, a small fridge-freezer and Belfast sink and most importantly a toaster
- A wall-mounted TV and DVD player, together with a range of DVD’s are also provided (in the little crafty/gift shop on the park.)
- At the other end of the hut though the oak door you’ll find a luxury with a walk-in wet-room with flush toilet, sink and shower.
What’s outside?
The Shetland Hut is situated in its own self-contained paddock, allowing you to let your dog the freedom to be off lead at all times. The hut benefits from fantastic views of the Clwydian mountain range!
We’ve also provided you with a decked area adjacent to the hut, large rocking chairs and an outside wood-burning stove to either keep you warm on chilly evenings, or you could take the opportunity to pop a frying pan on the top and cook up a yummy breakfast or open the door to toast some marshmallows! (There’s also an owl hiding in a tree if you can find her!)
Inside the large old fashioned black grit bin you’ll find your logs and kindling. A large wheelie bin is also provided for all your rubbish. Please note: all waste items to go in the wheelie bin as our waste is sorted by a recycling company.
There are many walks from the doorstep, with river walks not far away, where you may see kingfishers, sparrowhawks and buzzards. Please see our dog walks page for more information.
From Easter 2024 you will also have use of a dog agility area which is just for use of our guests. This will be situated about 200 yards from the park.

What’s provided?
Included in the cost of your accommodation you will find we provide;
Bathoom
- Bathmat and toilet paper. Towels are no longer provided.
Kitchen
- Washing up liquid and tea towels
- A range of cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils.
Bedroom
- All bedding is provided. We know your doggies are your family and if they also wish to lie on the bed or sit on the seats we ask you bring your own throws to protect our bedding and furniture.
