Some of Britain’s best and toughest riding is locate right near us, tucked away here in the tranquil hills of North East Wales. You can stay with us and within 30 minutes be riding riding through dramatic valleys and tackling some of Britain’s most challenging climbs – including the Bwylch y Groes, Llanberis Pass and other routes in Snowdonia.

Mountain and Trail biking
If your guilty pleasure is Mountain Biking then what better could we offer you than Mountain Biking in Snowdonia. We have some of the worlds best trails all set up, tried, tested and ready for you, not least the awesome trails that comprise Coed y Brenin, where a £1.7m extension to its visitor centre and beginners’ bike skills course has been recently opened. Coed y Brenin is perhaps the most comprehensive mountain bike trail centre in North Wales, not to mention the longest established centre in the UK. It boasts top notch facilities and the biggest choice of trails, hire facilities and a whole host of other recreational options.
In addition the Antur Stiniog mountain biking centre, based at Llechwedd slate quarry, is wowing downhill fans and provides an ‘uplift service’ should you want to take advantage of it.
Rhydd Ddu, one of the best 5 moutain bike rides in the UK is also within about 30 minutes of us. This superb mountain route will take you to the top of Wales’ highest peak — and back down along a route you’ll try hard to better and you won’t ever forget. This trail starts with a hard climb up to Bwlch Maesgwm, and then from there you’ll enjoy a superb descent all the way down to the lakeside town of Llanberis. Once down in Llanberis we recommend you pop in to the Pete’s Eats cafe for a well deserved coffee, chip butty or one of their lovely cakes!
